In record time for pandemic response – how we programmed the software that processed 1.9 million COVID tests and made it to the Federal Palace 🏛️

In a time when every hour counted, we faced one of our biggest challenges: developing COVID testing software for the Canton of Bern. 🦠

Although the security and quality requirements for such a project were exceptionally high, the platform had to be operational within just two weeks.

Together with Orxys AG, we developed the software platform "PROCESS." From registration and sample collection to lab analysis (PCR and antigen) and generation of test confirmations and certificates, the solution covers the entire testing process. The platform efficiently guides both patients and medical personnel through their processes. 📋

In addition to mass testing in schools and care facilities, the Canton also used PROCESS for the testing center in Bern-Wankdorf, the drive-in testing center in Bern-Belp, and the Federal Palace. Alongside the Canton of Bern, private testing centers from the Cantons of Bern, Solothurn, Basel-Landschaft, and Zurich also utilized the software solution. In total, over 1.9 million tests were processed through PROCESS.

This challenge proved to us that we are a team that does not back down when the going gets tough. We now know that we are ready for the most challenging projects (but hopefully no more pandemics!!).
